Leading Digital Futures 

This workshop aims to develop your leadership capabilities in the application and effective use of technologies for teaching and learning at a whole-school level.  The workshop presents a range of research and examples which highlight current use of technology in schools as opportunities to re-think the planning, pedagogy and capabilities required by school leaders and teachers to prepare students for digital futures.

Who is it suitable for?

Principals; Deputy, Associate and Assistant Principals; ICT Leaders/eLearning Coordinators and Heads of Learning Areas/Curriculum Coordinators.

Outcomes

An important aim of the day is to consider leadership strategies that support a coherent and strategic approach to ICT in order to optimise the impact on school effectiveness and 21st century student learning.

Delegates will:

• become familiar with ICT research and its impact on learning
• develop an understanding of the changing digital landscape and its implications for teaching and learning
• examine pedagogical practices for digital futures and 21st century learning
• explore the National Professional Standards for Teachers in their school context
• craft a digital pedagogy for your school
• develop an effective professional learning plan
• develop a three-year Digital Futures implementation strategy for your school.

The program will cover:

• characteristics of 21st century learners and educators
• leading learning for digital futures in the context of the National Professional Standard for Principals and the National Professional Standards for Teachers
• input and advice in shaping a three-year Digital Futures implementation strategy, tailored to meet the specific needs of your school.
